When should I start planning my invitations?

A. We suggest beginning the invitation process 5 months out from your wedding date. The more lead time, the better–especially if planning to go the route of a custom stationery suite. If choosing something from our Off the Shelf collection, we can go as close as 2.5 months out from your wedding date.

What does the custom invitation process look like?

A. Our process begins with a Q&A to get to know you as a couple and what your vision is for your wedding day. This beginning stage is really important because we value being able to incorporate small details that reflect you as a couple and the vision you have for your wedding day. Your invitation is the first touch-point that your guests have with your wedding, and sets the tone for your big day. It should be both a representation of you as a couple as well as create a vibe and expectation for the wedding itself. Once we have an idea as to what you are looking for and the budget you are hoping to stay within, we can suggest design and material options and pass along a quote. Our quotes are always sent a la carte style–offering you the ability to pick and choose the size, format, papers, materials, printing methods, enclosures, and add-ons that best suit your needs and budget.

Following the Q&A (which can be done over email, telephone, FaceTime, or in person) we put together an Inspiration Board to illustrate the look and feel of what we have envisioned for you based on our discussions together. Once you have given your stamp of approval on the design direction, we create several draft designs. After choosing the draft you want to run with, you can make tweaks and changes until it suits you perfectly*. Our goal is always to deliver paper goods that you both love and are proud to send out.

If you have a tighter timeline, please send us a note, and we will see what we can do to accommodate and expedite the process.

*Quoted prices include up to 3 rounds of revisions to the chosen draft design. If we need to go beyond that, additional costs may incur depending on the scope of changes requested.

Can I personalize or make changes to a stationery suite from your Off the Shelf collection?

Absolutely. Fonts and colour changes are complimentary*, as are layout changes as they pertain to your specific wording needs.

*Note: All of our floral illustrations and pattern work is hand-painted or hand-drawn. If you are looking to change the colour of a floral illustration, for example, a re-illustration fee will incur starting at $70 + tax (depending on the scope of the changes required). Send us a note with the suite name and change you’d like to see, and we can send you more information with pricing.

What is the average price for a wedding invitation?

Our custom invitations begin at $4.75 per invite. Upgrades, enclosures, and premium envelopes are additional. It is possible to do a custom invitation for under $500. With all the bells and whistles (with fine papers and lux printing methods) suites can range between $800–2000. If you are curious where your needs and vision falls in from the dollar standpoint, send us a note and we’d be more than happy to pass along a quote.

Will I be able to see my finished invitation before it is printed?

Following the multiple draft PDFs we send throughout the process, we always send you a final proof PDF prior to printing. If you’d like to see a hard copy printed, we can have a digital proof sent out to your for an added fee of $25.

Can I see samples before deciding on the specifics of my order?

Absolutely! We are more than happy to send you samples of paper stocks, foil, letterpress, envelopes, and other materials. We work with couples all over the world (with one couple from Australia), therefore we are adept and proficient with working over long distances. Not being able to physically meet us in the studio, will not equate to you being removed from the process. We pride ourselves on being a boutique design and paper studio and vow to give the champagne experience despite any distances that may be between us. We work WITH you. That includes seeing, feeling, and being entirely involved in every step of the process. (Or as involved as you want to be. If you just want something stellar and trust the pros to curate the right papers and envelopes to suite the design, we will happily do that too.)
